Turkish Embassy in Vilnius

Ambassador's Message

Dear guests,

I wish to warmly welcome you to the webpage of the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Vilnius.

Relations between Turkey and Lithuania are based on the “Friendship Agreement” signed on 17 September 1930. After the country regained its independence in 1991, diplomatic relations between the two countries were re-established on 3 September 1991. Following the opening of our Embassy in Vilnius on 30 March 1992 and Lithuanian Embassy in Ankara on 27 April 1997, Turkish-Lithuanian relations have continued to develop in all fields.

At present, our relations are based on friendship, bond of alliance and cooperation on the political side; a trade volume of almost 600 million USD on the economic/commercial side and an average of more than 100 thousand Lithuanian tourists visiting Turkey annually, reciprocal visits of Turkish and Lithuanian Erasmus students, Turkish citizens and brethren communities Tatars and Karaites living in Lithuania on the human side.

On behalf of our Embassy and my colleagues, who stand ready to assist you in all issues, I would like to extend our best wishes.

Aydan Yamancan

Ambassador
